Senior Machine Learning Software Engineer

Leidos seeks a Senior Software Engineer / Data Scientist to design and deliver secure, scalable, data-driven solutions for mission-critical national security, health, and engineering programs. You will build robust services and data pipelines, develop and deploy machine learning models, and integrate analytics into production applications. Partnering with cross-functional teams, you will translate complex requirements into elegant architectures, uphold security and quality standards, and mentor junior staff in a highly collaborative, mission-focused environment that values innovation, integrity, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable software and data pipelines for mission-critical systems
• Develop and deploy machine learning models and analytical solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate mission needs into technical solutions
• Implement secure, reliable, and high-performance services in cloud and on-prem environments
• Review code, mentor junior engineers, and promote engineering best practices
• Analyze large, complex datasets to generate actionable insights
• Integrate analytics and models into production applications and dashboards
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and quality standards
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical roadmaps
• Document designs, experiments, and operational runbooks
