Job Title : Mainframe QA Tester (MVS COBOL / JCL) Position Overview Contribute to the quality and reliability of critical Medicaid systems by testing software changes that support federally and state-mandated requirements. This role focuses on Mainframe quality assurance, test scenario creation, test execution, results analysis, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support across interconnected systems. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, adaptable team player who can work with minimal supervision, collaborate effectively with technical and business teams, and navigate an environment where requirements and priorities may be ambiguous. What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities Collaborate with project team members to test software coding changes to Medicaid systems-related data. Create test scenarios and execute tests to validate system changes. Analyze test results and investigate discrepancies between actual and expected outcomes. Work with project team members to resolve differences identified during testing. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in coordination with business users. Participate in testing with users, external healthcare providers, and trading partners as needed. Coordinate with other agencies and internal subsystems as required. Assist with business, process, and technical documentation. Communicate effectively with project team members and collaborate with technical staff and other contracted personnel. Adapt to changing needs and contribute to project goals with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications 4+ years of experience with Mainframe. 4+ years of experience with MVS COBOL. 4+ years of experience with JCL. 4+ years of experience with software testing. 4+ years of experience creating test scenarios. Effective written and oral communication skills. Adaptability, flexibility, self-motivation, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment and collaborate as part of a team. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SQL.
