Automation Engineer

Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer to enhance reliability and performance of automated systems across its retail operations network. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize automation solutions for fulfillment and sortation centers, using data to improve throughput, availability, and safety. You will troubleshoot and upgrade PLC- and robotics-based systems, lead root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment. Partnering with cross-functional teams, you'll help scale innovative technologies that power Amazon's global, technology-driven retail operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize automation solutions for Amazon fulfillment and sortation centers
• Analyze equipment performance data to improve reliability, throughput, and safety
• Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade automated material-handling and control systems
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and software teams on large-scale improvement projects
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across sites
• Participate in commissioning, testing, and validation of new automation technologies
