GovCIO LLC seeks a Network Engineer SME to design, secure, and optimize resilient networks supporting high-impact federal missions. You will architect and implement LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and cloud connectivity; integrate zero-trust and cybersecurity controls; and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues. Collaborate with agile software, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to modernize government systems, ensure high availability, and meet performance SLAs. Mentor engineers, document standards, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect secure, scalable LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and cloud networking solutions for federal customers.
- Implement, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to meet performance and security requirements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance, availability, and reliability using enterprise tools.
- Integrate zero-trust principles, segmentation, and cybersecurity controls into network designs and operations.
- Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, and application teams to support modernization and migration initiatives.
- Develop and maintain network standards, diagrams, documentation, and runbooks.
- Lead root-cause analysis for complex incidents and drive long-term corrective actions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide SME guidance on best practices and emerging technologies.
- Support capacity planning, technology refresh, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal security and configuration requirements and support audits or assessments.
