Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to support critical data center infrastructure powering our global cloud. You will monitor and maintain electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems; respond to alarms; perform routine inspections; and assist with troubleshooting to ensure maximum uptime. Working in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment, you'll follow strict safety and change-control procedures, document work in ticketing systems, and collaborate with engineers and vendors to support capacity expansions and continuous reliability improvements across AWS data centers.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain data center electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
- Respond to infrastructure alarms and perform first-level troubleshooting
- Conduct routine inspections, rounds, and preventive maintenance tasks
- Document activities and incidents in ticketing and monitoring systems
- Follow safety, security, and change-control procedures
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and on-site teams to resolve issues
- Assist with capacity expansions and infrastructure upgrades
- Perform root-cause analysis and contribute to reliability improvements
- Adhere to AWS standards and best practices for data center operations
