Job Description

Johnson Controls is seeking a Technical Support Engineer 4 to provide advanced support for building automation and manufacturing control systems. In this role, you will diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues, both remotely and on-site, ensuring safe, reliable system performance. You will collaborate with engineering and field teams, support upgrades and commissioning, and create clear documentation of incidents and solutions. Operating in an innovative, safety-focused, and customer-centric culture, you will mentor junior staff, contribute to continuous improvement, and help drive smart, sustainable building solutions worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support for building automation and manufacturing control systems
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues remotely and on-site
  • Collaborate with engineering and field teams to troubleshoot system integrations
  • Document incidents, root causes, and solutions in ticketing and knowledge base tools
  • Support system upgrades, patching, and configuration changes following safety standards
  • Assist in commissioning and testing of control systems for new and existing facilities
  • Guide junior engineers and technicians on best practices and troubleshooting methods
  • Engage with customers to clarify requirements and ensure timely resolution of escalations
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to reliability and security
  • Participate in on-call rotation and adhere to Johnson Controls' safety and quality processes
