Job Description

Johnson Controls seeks a Controls Systems Engineer to design, program, and commission BAS/DDC/BMS solutions for manufacturing and commercial facilities. You will develop control sequences, integrate field devices and networks, and optimize HVAC and building systems for safety, comfort, and efficiency. Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and customers to deliver reliable, sustainable smart-building solutions. Responsibilities include submittals, point lists, testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning while adhering to safety, quality, and cybersecurity standards in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and configure BAS/DDC/BMS control strategies and sequences of operation for manufacturing and commercial buildings.
  • Program, integrate, and test field controllers, sensors, actuators, and networked devices using standard communication protocols.
  • Commission and start up control systems, including point-to-point checks, functional testing, and system tuning for performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve control system, network, and device issues, providing technical support to field technicians and customers.
  • Prepare control submittals, drawings review, point lists, and as-built documentation in accordance with project and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to define requirements, scope work, and ensure on-time project delivery.
  • Implement energy-efficient control strategies to support sustainability goals and optimize building performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, and cybersecurity standards for control systems and networks.
