Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Cloud Hardware Engineer to lead mechanical design for next-generation AWS network and server products. You will architect chassis, thermal, and mechanical solutions for high-density, high-reliability cloud infrastructure, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability. Partner with electrical, systems, and operations teams to define requirements, build prototypes, run lab validation, and qualify designs for global scale. Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design for cloud server and network hardware, including chassis, thermal, and structural components.
- Translate customer and system requirements into detailed mechanical specifications and design documentation.
- Develop 3
- D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies optimized for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Perform thermal and structural analysis, drive cooling solutions, and validate performance through test.
- Prototype and qualify hardware through lab bring-up, environmental and reliability testing, and design iterations.
- Collaborate with electrical, systems, manufacturing, and operations teams to deliver scalable hardware at AWS scale.
- Drive design-for-manufacturing and cost optimization with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Own designs through full lifecycle from concept to production deployment in AWS data centers.
- Contribute to standards, best practices, and continuous improvement for cloud hardware design.
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical decision-making across cross-functional projects.
