Job Description

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to support and optimize AWS data center infrastructure. In this role, you will monitor and maintain critical compute, storage, and network systems, respond to incidents, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure high availability of cloud services. You will execute standard operating procedures, troubleshoot hardware issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement improvements. Working in AWS's customer-obsessed and data-driven culture, you'll learn cutting-edge cloud technologies, contribute to large-scale technical solutions, and grow in a high-ownership, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain AWS data center infrastructure and systems health
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on servers, networking, and power/cooling equipment
  • Respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents within defined SLAs
  • Execute standard operating procedures, change requests, and deployment tasks
  • Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues, escalating to engineering when needed
  • Use monitoring and ticketing tools to track system performance and issues
  • Document procedures, incidents, and resolutions to improve operational excellence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams on improvements
  • Support capacity planning, rack/stack, and cabling activities in the data center
  • Contribute to a high-safety, high-availability, and compliance-focused environment
