Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Software Development Engineer to build and optimize EC2 Nitro high memory and HPC capabilities. In this role, you'll design and implement low-latency, high-throughput services powering large memory instances and compute-intensive workloads. You'll work closely with senior engineers to improve reliability, scalability, and performance, using data-driven experimentation and profiling. You'll own services end-to-end-from design and coding to deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence-in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain EC2 Nitro high memory and HPC features and services.
- Optimize low-latency, high-throughput systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and architecture.
- Own services end-to-end, including deployment, monitoring, and operations.
- Use metrics, profiling, and experimentation to drive performance and availability improvements.
- Contribute to code reviews, design reviews, and best practices for systems engineering.
- Implement secure, resilient solutions aligned with AWS operational excellence standards.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis and remediation.
