Leidos is seeking an Avionics Test Engineer to design, execute, and automate tests for complex avionics and embedded systems supporting mission-critical programs. In this role, you will develop test plans and procedures, build hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop test setups, and perform integration, regression, and environmental testing to verify system performance, safety, and compliance. You will analyze test data, document results, and collaborate with systems, software, and hardware engineers to troubleshoot issues and refine designs. Responsibilities
- Design and develop test plans, procedures, and cases for avionics and embedded systems
- Set up and maintain hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop test environments
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and environmental tests
- Analyze test data to verify performance, safety, and compliance requirements
- Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects in collaboration with engineering teams
- Support system integration, verification, and validation activities
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
- Prepare clear test reports, documentation, and configuration records
- Ensure adherence to relevant aerospace, defense, and safety standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and tools
