Job Description

Edward Jones is seeking an Engineer III to design, build, and optimize secure, scalable technology solutions that support our core finance and insurance platforms. In this role, you will lead complex application and integration projects, collaborate with product, security, and operations teams, and drive best practices in software engineering and cloud architecture. You will mentor junior engineers, improve reliability and performance of critical systems, and help modernize legacy applications, enabling our financial advisors to deliver client-first, long-term investment and retirement planning services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications supporting financial and insurance services
  • Lead complex engineering projects from requirements through deployment and support
  • Collaborate with product, security, and operations to define technical solutions and standards
  • Implement secure coding, testing, and deployment best practices
  • Optimize system performance, reliability, and observability for critical platforms
  • Modernize and refactor legacy applications and services to modern architectures
  • Develop and integrate APIs and data services for internal and external systems
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering quality standards
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives
