Job Description

Edward Jones is seeking a Technical Architect to design and guide modern, secure technology solutions that power our client-first financial services. In this role, you will define application and integration architectures, champion cloud-native and API-driven designs, and ensure platforms meet stringent security, reliability, and regulatory standards for the finance and insurance industry. You will partner closely with engineering, product, cybersecurity, and business leaders to translate strategy into scalable technical roadmaps, mentor developers, and drive best practices in architecture governance, solution design, and technology selection to support firm-wide growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document enterprise and solution architectures for key platforms and applications
  • Define cloud-native, API-driven, and integration patterns for scalable systems
  • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and reliability standards for financial services
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate strategy into technical roadmaps
  • Lead architecture reviews and govern adherence to standards and reference architectures
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and platforms aligned to firm strategy
  • Guide implementation teams through complex design decisions and trade-offs
  • Mentor developers and engineers on architectural best practices and patterns
  • Support modernization of legacy systems and migration to cloud and modern platforms
  • Partner with cybersecurity and risk teams to embed controls and data protection into designs
