GovCIO LLC is seeking a Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and optimize secure VDI solutions for federal agencies. You will architect and maintain large-scale virtual desktop environments, integrate with cloud and on-prem infrastructure, and ensure high availability, performance, and security compliance. Partner with cybersecurity, network, and DevOps teams, automate deployments, and support troubleshooting and capacity planning in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment focused on federal IT modernization.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable, secure VDI solutions for federal customers
- Implement, configure, and maintain VMware Horizon or Citrix-based virtual desktop environments
- Integrate VDI platforms with Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, and storage systems
- Automate deployments, updates, and configurations using Power
- Shell or similar tools
- Monitor and optimize VDI performance, capacity, and user experience
- Ensure security compliance with federal standards and support audits and remediation
- Troubleshoot complex VDI incidents and lead root cause analysis
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, cloud, and Dev
- Ops teams on solutions and upgrades
- Document designs, procedures, runbooks, and configurations for operations teams
