Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize control systems that power our global cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will develop automation, monitoring, and alarming strategies for power and cooling systems, support commissioning of new capacity, and analyze performance data to improve reliability and efficiency. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment, owning high-impact projects that shape the future of large-scale cloud data centers and enable rapid capacity delivery worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize data center control systems to support AWS capacity delivery goals.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, automation, and alarming strategies for power, cooling, and environmental systems.
- Collaborate with data center operations, networking, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable, scalable capacity.
- Analyze system performance data to improve efficiency, resilience, and cost-effectiveness of data center operations.
- Support commissioning, testing, and validation of new capacity and infrastructure upgrades.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices for controls and automation.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects that enhance global AWS data center reliability and availability.
