Job Description

Peckham Industries is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead technical excellence across our construction materials and road construction projects in the Northeast. In this employee-owned, family-oriented company, you will oversee design, quality, and safety for asphalt, aggregates, and ready-mix concrete work supporting critical infrastructure. Responsibilities include leading engineering standards, reviewing plans and specifications, resolving complex field issues, and mentoring engineers and project teams. You'll collaborate closely with operations and project managers, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements. Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering for road and infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
  • Develop and review plans, specifications, and calculations for asphalt, aggregates, and concrete work.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards on all job sites.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and clients to solve technical issues.
  • Optimize materials, methods, and designs for cost, durability, and constructability.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to engineers and field staff.
  • Oversee testing, inspection, and documentation to support compliance and performance.
  • Support bid preparation, estimating, and value-engineering for new projects.
