About the Company Our client is a well-established general engineering contractor with decades of experience delivering complex infrastructure and civil construction projects. The company specializes in challenging work across pipeline and underground wet utilities, facilities, private development, and concrete/pavement construction, with a strong presence in Northern California and continued expansion into new markets. Known for pursuing projects that many contractors avoid, the organization has built its reputation on technical expertise, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to safety. As the company continues its strategic growth, it is making a significant investment in expanding its presence in the rapidly growing Nevada market. About the Position Our client is seeking an entrepreneurial, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to establish and grow its presence in the Las Vegas and Nevada market. This is a newly created, fully remote opportunity designed for someone who wants real ownership over a market and the autonomy to help build it. The successful candidate will focus primarily on identifying and developing opportunities involving pipeline and underground water infrastructure projects, typically ranging from $1 million to $60 million. Las Vegas and the surrounding Nevada market represent a significant growth opportunity due to continued population growth and increasing demand for critical water infrastructure. This role will be instrumental in opening doors, developing strategic relationships, and generating opportunities that convert into awarded work. The Business Development Manager will: Build and expand relationships with owners, engineers, municipalities, developers, and other key decision-makers throughout the Nevada market. Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities involving pipeline and underground wet utility infrastructure. Generate leads and develop relationships that translate into long-term project opportunities and awarded work. Represent the company throughout the Las Vegas and broader Nevada market. Develop the company's visibility and reputation within the local business and infrastructure community. Lead outreach, networking, and relationship-building initiatives across key client and industry segments. Participate in industry associations, networking events, and other market-facing activities. Leverage an existing Nevada-market network to identify and create new opportunities. Work closely with operations and estimating teams to support pursuits, proposals, and client relationships. Help shape the company's long-term business development strategy and market expansion efforts. Support brand visibility, marketing, and social media initiatives when appropriate. This is not a treatment plant or vertical construction business development role. The focus is on building relationships and generating opportunities within the pipeline, water infrastructure, and underground utility market. While construction experience is beneficial, the company is open to candidates from other highly relationship-driven industries. Professionals with backgrounds in commercial real estate, industrial or materials sales, account management, and other client-facing business development roles are strongly encouraged to apply. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Approximately 5-10 years of business development, sales, account management, or relationship-driven experience. An established network of relationships and contacts within the Nevada and/or Las Vegas market is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to open doors, build trust, and develop long-term relationships with senior-level decision-makers. Strong interpersonal, communication, networking, and relationship-building skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and build a market largely through personal initiative. Comfortable working remotely while maintaining a highly visible presence in the target market.
