Why you'll love this job

The Principal, Inflight Innovation and Insights is part of the Inflight Division. This role is responsible for setting the strategic direction and hands on delivery of Power Apps, automation, and advanced analytics using Power Platform, Alteryx, and Python. The role combines deep technical expertise with platform ownership, building scalable tools, advising across the Inflight Team, and ensuring data, reporting, and business technology solutions drive real operational value while serving as a mentor and technical authority rather than a traditional people manager.

Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.

• Serve as the Principal technical lead for analytics, reporting, and business technology solutions supporting the Inflight organization, with a primary focus on Power Platform, Alteryx, and Python based solutions.
• Define and lead the strategic roadmap for Inflight Power Apps and Power Platform tools, including capability planning, architecture standards, and prioritization aligned with business and operational needs.
• Design, develop, and oversee advanced analytical and automation solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
• Alteryx workflows for data preparation and analytics
• Python based analysis, automation, and data processing
• Act as a technical authority and solution architect, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, well governed, and integrated with broader data and reporting ecosystems.
• Serve as a consultant and trusted advisor to the Inflight Innovation and Insights Team, providing expertise in analytics strategy, reporting design, business technology, and solution feasibility.
• Translate complex operational and business challenges into actionable analytical models, reporting solutions, and low code tools that enable decision making for frontline and senior leaders.
• Establish best practices, technical standards, and reusable patterns for analytics and Power Platform development across Inflight.
• Mentor and technically guide an Analyst/Developer and other team members, providing code review, solution design guidance, and skill development, without primary responsibility for people management.
• Collaborate cross functionally with Technology, Analytics, Operations, Security, and Business partners to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards and Inflight specific needs.
• Lead experimentation and adoption of modern analytics and low code capabilities, evaluating new tools and approaches to continuously improve delivery speed, insight quality, and user experience.
• Champion data quality, automation, and self service analytics to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across Inflight reporting and operational tools.
