Hybrid Senior Business Development Manager (Relationship-Driven)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a relationship-driven Business Development Manager to cultivate and steward customer relationships built to last for the long term. This is not a transactional, hard-sell role-success comes from trust, consistency, and partnership over time.

This position supports a growth strategy targeting 20% year-over-year expansion in self-performed work, while maintaining strong existing relationships and adding 2-4 new strategic clients annually within target markets.

The role operates within a structured performance system that emphasizes clear priorities, accountability, and measurable outcomes.

Occasional travel required, but not extensive.

What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with both existing and prospective customers
  • Conduct 2-4 in-person customer meetings per month, focused on relationship development rather than transactions
  • Identify and pursue high-quality opportunities aligned with strategic goals
  • Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and a cohesive customer experience
  • Maintain visibility through jobsite visits, regular check-ins, and involvement in industry and community activities
  • Track and manage performance through a structured scorecard including activity, pipeline health, engagement, and conversion metrics
What Success Looks Like
  • Achieves or exceeds 20% year-over-year growth in self-performed work
  • Adds 2-4 new strategic clients annually
  • Strengthens existing relationships, resulting in increased repeat business
  • Demonstrates consistent execution against performance metrics with strong follow-through
Requirements (Must-Haves)
  • Proven experience in relationship-focused business development
  • Strong time management, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to travel regionally, including occasional overnight stays
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
Preferred, not required, qualifications
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Experience in vertical construction
