Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNetwork TechnicianPosition: Contract (12 months) conversion or other projects unknown after assignment.Location: Edwardsville, IL.Pay: $45.00 to $50.00 an hour (depending on experience).Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (M - F).Schedule: NO hybrid or remote (100% on-site).Status: Must be a US citizen.Onboarding: Drug Test, Background Check and Credit Check.Benefits: 6 paid holidays, 10 days of accrued PTO per year, medical/dental/vision/life insurance.Summary: Our client is seeking a Network Technician to support production-level device configuration and testing for our client. This role is execution-focused and involves following established work instructions and processes to ensure accuracy and consistency. This position does not include design or architecture responsibilities. The technician will work under the direction of engineering and production leadership to deliver high-quality, production-ready network solutions.Responsibilities:• Perform configuration and testing of: Networking devices, Wireless equipment, Telecommunications hardware. • Execute: OS installations, Firmware upgrades, License installations per customer standards.• Configure and test devices including: Routers, Switches, Wireless access points. • Perform basic troubleshooting of configuration and logical issues. • Accurately capture: Configuration data, Quality control (QC) records, Testing results. • Conduct quality checks and physical audits of equipment and accessories. • Track work status and progress using established tools. • Follow: Engineering documentation, Network design documents, Rack elevations.• Escalate issues when: Work instructions are unclear o Errors are identified. • Provide feedback to improve documentation and production processes.Required Experience:• 2-4 years of experience in: Network Technician roles, Data Center Technician roles, or similar production-focused environments.Technical Skills:• Working knowledge of: Networking fundamentals (routing, switching, basic wireless).• Experience configuring network devices using documented procedures. • Basic troubleshooting capabilities. • Ability to identify when escalation is required.Core Competencies:• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Ability to follow detailed instructions with high accuracy. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment. • Comfortable working independently and within a team. • Adaptability to changing priorities and workloads. • Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with Juniper networking equipment.
