Job Description
Description:
• The Lead Solution Architect will own the end-to-end architecture, design, and governance of the Virtual Lab platform hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• This role is responsible for defining scalable, secure, supportable, and automated cloud solutions that enable rapid provisioning of isolated lab environments while aligning with enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards.
• The architect will work closely with engineering, DevOps, cloud operations, testing, security, networking, and application teams to establish a robust platform capable of supporting multiple store topologies, environments, and business use cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end technical architecture and ensure the Virtual Lab solution is scalable, secure, supportable, and aligned with enterprise standards:
- Define the end-to-end Virtual Lab solution architecture across Azure infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, security, deployment automation, testing, and observability.
- Design the target Azure environment, including subscriptions, resource groups, virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, private endpoints, Bastion, Key Vault, monitoring, and outbound connectivity.
- Define Infrastructure-as-Code standards using Terraform and/or Bicep, including reusable modules, naming standards, tagging, and configuration patterns.
- Establish architecture principles for reusable store recipes, environment isolation, versioned bundles, repeatable deployment, and automated teardown.
- Define integration patterns for source repositories, artifact stores, CI/CD pipelines, test frameworks, store configurations, and peripheral emulators.
- Ensure security, access control, data isolation, auditability, cost controls, and environment-retention requirements are incorporated into the design.
- Lead architecture reviews, technical decision-making, risk identification, and resolution of cross-platform dependencies.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering, DevOps, cloud automation, testing, and application-development teams.
- Maintain solution architecture, deployment-design documents, integration specifications, and architecture decision records.
- Support MVP validation and provide recommendations for scaling the solution to additional store topologies, markets, and use cases.
