Job Description Job Description What if your engineering could make every build clearer, faster, and more reliable?
Do you enjoy turning specifications into step-by-step plans operators trust? Are you energized by eliminating waste, meeting tough cost targets, and proving processes meet exacting aerospace standards? If so, this role puts you at the center of operations, partnering with design and project engineering to turn requirements into production reality.
Picture yourself:
- Owning the technical story for your projectsfrom procurement spec compliance to full process validation against customer and internal requirements.
- Building APQP-driven documentation and crystal-clear Visual Work Instructions (VWI) that make complex work simple.
- Designing how work flows: selecting equipment, planning tooling, and shaping cellular manufacturing concepts.
- Applying time standards and creating Work Combination Sheets (WCS) to balance labor and takt.
- Ensuring manufacturability across detail parts, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies.
- Leading/partnering in a Production Support Team to solve issues at root cause and prevent recurrence.
- Guiding New Product Introduction (NPI) through first builds and tracking process effectiveness.
- Coordinating tooling design for manufacturing/assembly and reviewing drawings for technical rigor.
- Feeding precise data to estimating for quotes and preparing reports that spotlight opportunities for improvement.
- Liaising between Senior Aerospace SSP manufacturing and customer cognizant engineering; collaborating with suppliers to mature their processes.
Hands-on processes and materials
You will perform, document, and validate machining, forming, stamping, heat treating, and chemical processing on:
- Titanium
- Inconel
- Aluminum
- Stainless Steel
- O1 and D2 tooling steels
How we align work to your strengths
Your specific responsibilities are defined by the Manufacturing Manager based on your expertise and reviewed at least annually (ideally during performance reviews or with organizational changes) to keep pace with your growth.
Bring these qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of engineering experience (aerospace preferred); or MS in Mechanical or related with 2+ years in aerospace.
- Experience in fast-paced manufacturing preferred; knowledge of sheet metal processes (welding, forming, NDT, etc.), aerospace materials, and GD&T preferred.
And these strengths
- Language: Excellent English communication; able to read, write, and present clearly to large audiences.
- Reasoning: Practical problem-solver who follows detailed instructions and manages multiple concrete variables.
- Math: Comfortable with averages, summations, standard deviations, statistical trends, proportions, and percentages.
- Other: Strong team and independent contributor; preferred knowledge of aircraft ECS ducting; sheet metal and aerospace materials; forming, welding, machining, and heat treating; basic NDT and geometric tolerance. Understanding of MRP/ERP requirements and order generation logic.
