JOB DESCRIPTION Sr. Automation Engineer Job Title: Sr. Automation Engineer Location: Raleigh, NC / Chapel Hill, NC / Durham, NC Duration: 8 months Must-Have Skills BASH BitBucket Linux Python REQUIRED EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Experience with automating Linux OS and software patches and upgrades across multiple environments using automations tools like Ansible (7+ Years) Hands on Experience (like branching merging configuring and administering) with BitBucket or GIT Source Code Management Tool (3+ Years) Hands on experience in Automating build/deploy process including changes to database using tools like Ansible (7+ Years) Experience developing automation scripts operational utilities and workflow scripts using Python/Bash/Shell (7+ Years) Experience building and packaging applications with Docker and managing and scaling containerized workloads using Kubernetes (2+ Years) Experience in infrastructure provisioning configuration and environment management using Terraform and Ansible (4+ Years) Hands on experience developing and managing CI/CD (DevOps) pipeline using tools like Teamcity Jenkins Ansible (2+ Years) PREFERRED EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Strong knowledge and understanding of Amazon web Services and infrastructure (2+ Years) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary role is to lead Automation effort of infrastructure provisioning build and deploy activities for Client applications This position must demonstrate a solid understanding of AWS infrastructure and software release life cycle The role involves creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks troubleshooting automation issues ensuring consistent and reliable deployments across environments and collaborating with DevOps and application teams to enhance CI/CD workflows Strong knowledge of Linux Ansible Tower/AWX YAML automation best practices and infrastructure-as-code principles is required Experience with debugging deployments validating configurations and improving release reliability is a plus The position will work with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuous integration and Continuous deployment (CI/CD) of application changes This position will interact with the architect's developer's deployment Team and Database Administrators to ensure automation of various tasks This position is required to be on call for evenings and weekends as required to meet business needs
