Director of Enterprise Architecture

Abbott Laboratories seeks a Head of Enterprise Architecture to define and lead the global technology architecture supporting its biotechnology and pharmaceutical portfolio. This role will create an enterprise-wide architecture vision spanning applications, data, integration, and infrastructure to enable secure, scalable, and compliant solutions. You will guide technology roadmaps, govern architecture standards, and partner with business and R&D leaders to align platforms with strategic priorities, accelerating innovation, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a complex global environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain Abbott's global enterprise architecture vision and roadmap.
• Align technology, data, and platforms with biotechnology and pharmaceutical business strategy.
• Establish and enforce architecture principles, standards, and governance processes.
• Lead evaluation and selection of platforms, integration patterns, and cloud solutions.
• Partner with business, R&D, and IT leaders to shape solutions and investments.
• Ensure architectures meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Guide solution and domain architects across programs and portfolios.
• Develop reference architectures and blueprints for key capabilities.
• Support modernization, cloud migration, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Mentor architecture teams and promote a collaborative, innovation-focused culture.
