Job Description

Zillow is hiring an Agentic AI Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead design and deployment of advanced ML systems that power home search, recommendations, and decision tools for millions of users. You'll architect agentic AI and LLM-driven solutions, owning the full ML lifecycle from data pipelines and feature engineering to training, evaluation, and scalable productionization in the cloud. Partnering closely with product, data, and engineering teams, you'll shape Zillow's AI strategy, mentor other engineers, and champion experimentation, inclusion, and data-driven decisions in a flexible, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement large-scale agentic AI and machine learning systems for Zillow's real estate and rental products.
  • Lead end-to-end ML lifecycle from data exploration and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to define requirements and translate business problems into ML solutions.
  • Build and optimize LLM- and agent-based workflows for personalization, recommendations, and decision support.
  • Ensure robustness, fairness, and reliability of models through monitoring, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor engineers and data scientists, establishing best practices for ML architecture, MLOps, and coding standards.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and influence Zillow's AI strategy.
  • Contribute to a culture of experimentation, learning, and inclusion within the AI/ML organization.
