Trenton Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop secure, high-performance software for rugged computers, servers, and workstations used in defense, aerospace, and industrial applications. In this collaborative, mission-driven role, you'll design and debug embedded firmware, device drivers, and board support packages, integrate with custom hardware and RTOS/Linux, and optimize performance, reliability, and security. You'll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams on complex projects, support system bring-up and troubleshooting, and grow your skills while contributing to critical, real-world missions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and debug embedded software for rugged computing platforms
- Implement device drivers, board support packages, and low-level firmware
- Integrate software with custom hardware and RTOS/Linux environments
- Optimize performance, reliability, and security for mission-critical systems
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, and QA engineers on complex projects
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation
- Support system bring-up, troubleshooting, and field issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, processes, and architectures
