Job Description

Trenton Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop secure, high-performance software for rugged computers, servers, and workstations used in defense, aerospace, and industrial applications. In this collaborative, mission-driven role, you'll design and debug embedded firmware, device drivers, and board support packages, integrate with custom hardware and RTOS/Linux, and optimize performance, reliability, and security. You'll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams on complex projects, support system bring-up and troubleshooting, and grow your skills while contributing to critical, real-world missions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and debug embedded software for rugged computing platforms
  • Implement device drivers, board support packages, and low-level firmware
  • Integrate software with custom hardware and RTOS/Linux environments
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and security for mission-critical systems
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, and QA engineers on complex projects
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation
  • Support system bring-up, troubleshooting, and field issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, processes, and architectures
