The Data Center Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of a small data center team, typically comprising 1-5 members. Reporting directly to the Data Center Manager and integrated within IT Operations, this technician ensures the reliability and efficiency of data center hardware and infrastructure through installation, maintenance, and monitoring activities.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure data center equipment and hardware
- Perform regular hardware maintenance and repairs
- Manage network cabling and fiber optic connections
- Monitor systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Troubleshoot technical issues promptly and effectively
- Maintain accurate inventory of data center assets
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols in the data center environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years experience in data center operations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting and network cabling
- Knowledge of data center safety protocols
- Experience with low voltage and fiber optics
- Ability to safely operate a scissor lift
