Job Description

40% - Data analysis. This includes downloading, manipulating, and displaying data collected from IoT devices deployed to the field and collecting data from construction job sites. This task usually involves writing stand-alone code that will answer a specific R&D question, e.g., what is the fundamental frequency of the vibration pattern detected by the system hardware. 25% - Software Updates. Implementing changes to the codebase for improved performance or business logic. Changes are usually dictated to the employee at a high-level while implementation is left to the employee's skills. 15% Remote Customer support. Occasionally supporting installation technicians working in the field to troubleshoot, diagnosis, or implement product issues in real, or close to real, time. 10% - Bug fixes to existing codebase. This includes determining the cause, finding a solution, and potentially changing the business/software logic of how the current application operates. Software Engineer II for G4 Technologies 10% - Business development meetings and administrative tasks. The employee is involved in strategic planning meetings for the business; offering insights to software capabilities/limitations and answering technical details about the current operating system(s). Occasional work from home is allowed provided virtual check-ins and task assignments with supervising manager. Occasional domestic travel may be necessary for trade-shows, job-site support, and/or corporate meetings. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field of study; and 2 years of experience as a Computer Programmer, Software Engineer or other closely related work experience doing software maintenance, data science, and/or machine learning. Alternate Qualifications: Masters in Data Science or Machine Learning/AI Special Skills/Certifications: Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of the programming language "Python" Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of the operating system Linux Send resumes to Garrett Winkelmaier
