Cox Automotive is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance platforms powering our telecommunications and media-driven automotive solutions. You will own key architectural decisions, guide the adoption of cloud-native and microservices patterns, and ensure reliability, security, and performance across distributed systems used by dealers and consumers worldwide. Partner with product and cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, champion engineering best practices, and help shape the technical roadmap that advances the future of automotive retail and mobility.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of scalable, cloud-native platforms and services
- Define and govern application architecture, coding standards, and best practices
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and operations teams to deliver complex features
- Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical leadership
- Drive reliability, performance, security, and observability across distributed systems
- Influence technical roadmap and technology choices for key product lines
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in high-availability environments
