Edward Jones seeks a Data Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security controls that protect sensitive financial and client data. In this role, you will engineer and harden cloud and on-prem environments, manage data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, key management, and tokenization, and integrate security into data platforms and pipelines. You will lead threat modeling, perform security assessments, partner with engineering and compliance teams, respond to incidents, and support regulatory and audit requirements while mentoring peers and promoting a strong security culture.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain data security architectures and controls for cloud and on-prem environments
- Implement and manage data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, tokenization, and key management solutions
- Integrate security controls into data platforms, pipelines, and applications
- Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security design reviews for data-related projects
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to data security incidents and vulnerabilities
- Ensure alignment with financial regulations, privacy requirements, and internal security policies
- Develop and maintain security standards, patterns, and documentation for data protection
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, legal, and compliance teams on security initiatives
- Support security audits and examinations by regulators and third parties
- Mentor junior engineers and advocate for secure-by-design and privacy-by-design practices
