Ameritas is seeking a Lead Financial Reporting Analyst to own complex GAAP and statutory reporting for our insurance and financial products. In this key role, you'll prepare and analyze financial statements, lead variance and trend analysis, and ensure strong controls and compliance. You'll partner with actuarial, investments, and leadership to deliver clear insights, support audits, and drive reporting automation. Responsibilities
- Lead preparation and analysis of GAAP and statutory financial statements for Ameritas insurance and investment products
- Develop, document, and enhance financial reporting processes, controls, and documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Perform variance, trend, and profitability analysis; translate findings into clear insights and recommendations for leadership
- Coordinate reporting deliverables across finance, actuarial, and investment teams to meet internal and regulatory deadlines
- Support external audit and regulatory exams with schedules, reconciliations, and technical accounting support
- Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations on financial results and key performance indicators
- Research and interpret accounting and regulatory guidance impacting insurance and financial services reporting
- Drive reporting automation and data quality initiatives using advanced Excel and reporting tools
- Mentor junior analysts, review their work, and promote best practices in financial analysis and reporting
- Contribute to cross-functional projects that support growth, risk management, and long-term financial security goals
