The City of Modesto seeks a Senior Software Analyst to design, enhance, and support critical municipal applications that power public safety, utilities, transportation, and community services. In this role, you will lead requirements gathering with departments, translate business needs into technical solutions, configure and integrate systems, and manage vendor relationships. You will oversee complex enhancements, ensure data quality and reporting, support testing and deployments, mentor junior staff, and help modernize the City's technology to improve services for residents and businesses.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering with City departments and translate needs into technical specifications
- Design, configure, and support municipal software applications and integrations
- Develop and maintain queries, reports, and dashboards to support data-driven decisions
- Coordinate and perform system testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance
- Troubleshoot complex application issues and provide advanced technical support
- Collaborate with vendors, IT staff, and stakeholders on implementations and upgrades
- Document business processes, configurations, and system changes
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to standards and best practices
- Support project planning, timelines, and status reporting for technology initiatives
- Identify opportunities to modernize systems and improve service delivery
