Job Description
Work within Rapid7s Managed Detection and Response (MDR) operations to deliver threat detection services using traditional threat intelligence-based detection and user behavior analytics. Responsible for 24/7 Security Operation Center (SOC) monitoring and real-time incident validation, threat hunting, and incident response. Conduct investigations, including evidence acquisition and analysis. Determine how intrusions began and identify any malicious or unexpected activity related to the event. Write incident reports to document findings and provide remediation and mitigation recommendations for customers. Assist in capturing and deploying knowledge of attack methodologies. Drive research initiatives to further threat detection capabilities and brand reputation through media interaction, public speaking, and blogs. Provide continuous input to Rapid7 product development teams.
Position is fixed location based in Arlington office; however, telecommuting may be permitted up to two (2) days per week.
40 hours/week, 10:00am - 6:00pm, Salary: $102,300 /year.
Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computing Security, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Information Technology or a directly related field plus one (1) year of experience as a detection and response analyst. Experience must include:
One (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Investigative methodology as it relates to computer forensics investigations.
- Windows, Linux or Mac systems administration or forensic artifact analysis.
- Cyber kill chain or MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
Telecommuting/Remote Work is Permitted
Telecommuting may be permitted up to two (2) days per week
