Vantor seeks a Mission Architect for Space Communications Systems to design end to end mission architectures that connect spacecraft, ground stations, and cloud platforms. You will translate mission goals into scalable, secure software and data solutions, define reference architectures, and guide teams implementing modern web, API, and streaming workloads. Partner closely with clients, lead technical decisions, and ensure reliability, observability, and automation across environments. Responsibilities
- Design end to end mission architectures for space communications systems across spacecraft, ground, and cloud
- Translate mission and business requirements into scalable, secure technical designs
- Define and maintain reference architectures, patterns, and standards for mission solutions
- Collaborate with clients to align technical approaches with mission goals and constraints
- Guide engineering teams through implementation, integration, and delivery
- Ensure reliability, observability, and automation in mission critical systems
- Evaluate and integrate cloud, data, and networking services for space communication workloads
- Create clear architecture documentation, diagrams, and decision records
- Perform trade studies and risk assessments for alternative technical approaches
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Vantor's architecture practices and tooling
