Parma Tavern is seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Expeditor (Expo) to join our team. For years, Parma Tavern has been a neighborhood favorite, serving an eclectic mix of Italian-inspired pub fare featuring stone oven pizzas cooked in our 600-degree brick oven, fresh pasta with made-from-scratch sauces, house-ground burgers, shareable appetizers, and an extensive selection of craft beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails.

The Expeditor is one of the most important positions in the restaurant. Acting as the communication link between the kitchen and Front of House team, the Expo ensures every plate is accurate, every modification is correct, every ticket flows efficiently, and every guest receives food that meets Parma Tavern's quality standards.


In addition to managing the expo line, this position plays an important role in coordinating takeout operations. When assigned, the Expo is responsible for ensuring every takeout order is prepared accurately, packaged professionally, includes all requested items and condiments, and is delivered to the appropriate guest, third-party delivery driver, or designated To-Go Specialist. During busy periods, the Expo may also assist by entering takeout orders into the POS system to help maintain efficient service.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous restaurant experience is required
  • Experience as an Expeditor, Food Runner, Server Assistant, Line Cook, or Server is strongly preferred
  • High-volume restaurant experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Position Responsibilities
  • Coordinate communication between the kitchen and Front of House team
  • Review every ticket for accuracy before food leaves the kitchen
  • Verify modifications, allergies, and special requests
  • Ensure all menu items meet company recipe, presentation, and quality standards
  • Monitor ticket times and help maintain an efficient flow of service
  • Garnish, inspect, and stage food for accurate delivery
  • Communicate product shortages, ticket delays, and kitchen updates to service staff
  • Oversee the quality and accuracy of all takeout orders before they leave the restaurant
  • Verify each takeout order includes all food items, modifications, sauces, utensils, condiments, and beverages
  • Properly package takeout orders to maintain food quality and presentation
  • Coordinate completed takeout orders with guests, third-party delivery drivers, or the designated To-Go Specialist
  • Assist with entering takeout orders into the POS system when business needs require
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line and takeout area
  • Work closely with managers, cooks, servers, bartenders, and support staff throughout the shift
  • Follow all company standards, food safety procedures, and Health Department regulations
  • Support the kitchen and dining room wherever needed to ensure an exceptional guest experience
Food Quality & Service Standards

The Expeditor is responsible for protecting the guest experience before every plate reaches the table or leaves the restaurant.

Our Expo team members are expected to:

  • Ensure every dine-in and takeout order meets Parma Tavern's presentation standards
  • Verify recipe builds, portion consistency, and food quality
  • Maintain organized ticket flow throughout each service
  • Ensure takeout orders are packaged accurately and completely before release
  • Communicate effectively with both Front and Back of House teams
  • Follow all company procedures and Health Department requirements
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional expo station
Schedule & Availability

Parma Tavern serves guests from lunch through late night, with busy weekends and changing business levels throughout the week.

Applicants should have flexible availability, including:

  • Lunch and dinner shifts
  • Evening and late-night shifts
  • Weekends
  • Holidays and special events
  • Opening and closing responsibilities as scheduled

Qualifications
  • Restaurant experience required
  • Previous Expo experience preferred
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tickets while maintaining accuracy
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Working knowledge of Health Department and food safety standards preferred
  • Successful completion of company product knowledge training, including written and verbal evaluations
  • Commitment to following all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
