Machine Programmer III
Huntsville, AL (Onsite)
Our client, a leading aerospace and spaceflight organization, is seeking an experienced Machine Programmer III to support the manufacturing of advanced spaceflight hardware. This role is ideal for a highly skilled CNC/NC Programmer with strong Siemens NX and Vericut experience who enjoys working on complex, tight-tolerance components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Create and modify NC programs for CNC mills, lathes, multi-axis mills, mill-turn machines, and VTLs
- Develop machining strategies to translate engineering designs into machined hardware
- Create and maintain setup sheets and manufacturing documentation
- Design custom fixtures and tooling as needed
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, machinists, and design engineers
- Support first article builds and production prove-outs on the shop floor
- Provide DFMA feedback to improve manufacturability and cycle times
- Verify programs using Vericut or equivalent simulation software
- Support machining of high-value aerospace components with tight tolerances
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing operations
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of CNC/NC programming experience
- Professional experience using Siemens NX (Unigraphics)
- Experience using Vericut or similar program verification software
- Experience programming multi-axis CNC mills and/or lathes
- Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Experience creating setup sheets and machining documentation
- Experience selecting cutting tools and developing machining strategies
- Experience machining Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace, defense, spaceflight, turbine, or oil & gas manufacturing experience
- Mastercam experience
- Hands-on machining experience
- Tooling and fixture design experience
- Experience supporting first article inspections and prove-outs
Schedule
- Monday - Thursday
- 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST
- Occasional Friday support may be required
