Overview
Seeking an experienced OSP focused Telecommunications Engineer to serve as a Virtual Lead Instructor. You'll deliver advanced technical training, guide hands on labs, and mentor new and experienced engineers in core OSP engineering concepts and industry standard design tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead live virtual training sessions on OSP engineering fundamentals, design workflows, and tool based applications.
- Deliver structured instructions on:
- Introduction to OSP Engineering
- Fiber Basics
- Granite Error Resolution
- ARAMIS DT (Parts 1 & 2)
- Cooper Design for OSPE
- O Calc Pro
- Demonstrate virtual or leader lead, and real world engineering exercises.
- Assess learner progress, provide coaching, and support skill development.
- Maintain and update training materials to align with current engineering standards.
- Collaborate with SMEs and curriculum teams to refine course content.
- Troubleshoot learner issues related to software, workflows, and design logic.
- Serve as the virtual classroom lead, ensuring smooth session flow and strong learner engagement.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- OSP Engineering background: fiber routing, splicing, cable selection, network architecture.
- Proficiency with Granite, ARAMIS DT, Cooper Design for OSPE, and O Calc Pro.
- Ability to explain complex engineering concepts clearly to mixed experience audiences.
- Prefer experience delivering virtual training or leading technical workshops or mentoring engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Familiarity with NESC standards and utility construction practices (preferred).
- Comfortable with virtual training platforms, screen sharing and digital collaboration tools.
Qualifications
Prefer equivalent telecom engineering experience and/or electrical engineering.
- 2+ years in telecom engineering preferred, OSP design, or related technical fields.
- Prior instructor, trainer, mentor, or technical lead experience preferred.
- Ability to independently manage multiple virtual training cohorts.
