Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThis Network Technician Tier 1 Position Features:
Position Title: Network Technician (Tier 1) - Austin Region
Location: Austin Metro (Primary focus: Jollyville / Great Hills area/ Fort Cavazos)
Duration: Contract through Q1 2026 (Potential extension through 2026)
Rate: $25.00 - $28.00/hr (DOE) + Mileage/Travel Compensation
Work Schedule & Hours:
Variable Hours: Daily schedule fluctuates between 4-10+ hours depending on site size and phase.
Installation Days: Technicians will not leave the site until the network is fully operational, which may result in longer shifts.
Timing: Surveys are conducted during normal business hours; hardware installs are performed after-hours to minimize clinical disruption.
Travel: Regional travel is required; drive times of 1-2 hours should be expected and are compensated.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit & Discovery: Preliminary onsite surveys for device mapping and network health.
Deployment: Hands-on rack and stack of switches and network equipment.
Wireless: Installation of up to 25 APs per site.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience in network hardware installation and field technician roles.
Ability to commit to a project that requires a mix of day and evening shifts.
Strong attention to detail for physical audits and data collection.
