Role Overview
The Technical Business Analyst (TBA) serves as the primary lead for analysis and requirements documentation supporting MSS and Telecom device segmentation initiatives. This role is responsible for identifying device populations, documenting communication behaviors, mapping dependencies, and defining validation criteria to enable and sustain least-privilege segmentation using established tools and processes.
The TBA is not expected to perform hands-on network engineering but must possess sufficient technical fluency to actively participate in discussions with network and security teams, ask insightful questions, and translate outcomes into clear, actionable documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and document in-scope MSS and Telecom device populations, including attributes, ownership, and operational context in collaboration with MSS, Telecom, Network, and Security teams.
- Analyze and document required communication flows, dependencies, and operational use cases to support segmentation enforcement.
- Translate technical discussions into well-defined segmentation requirements, enforcement criteria, and validation artifacts.
- Support enforcement validation activities by confirming correct segment placement and approved communication pathways using ServiceNow as the system of record.
- Maintain traceability across device inventories, segmentation rules, enforcement status, and operational outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of standardized documentation, procedures, and workflows to enable repeatable enforcement and onboarding of new devices.
Desired Background & Skills
- Experience as a technical or systems-focused Business Analyst supporting infrastructure, networking, or security initiatives.
- Working knowledge of core networking concepts such as IP networking, routing, firewalling, and segmentation.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical information into structured, clear, and consumable documentation.
- Familiarity with network segmentation, access controls, ServiceNow CMDB, and least-privilege models is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable collaborating directly with engineers and operational teams to validate real-world behaviors and constraints.
- Detail-oriented and process-driven with experience supporting multiple device classes or technical domains.
- Basic but solid understanding of networking principles is highly beneficial for success in this role.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Engineering, Technology, Healthcare, or related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant business and/or technical experience
