Our client seeks a Senior Cloud Database Deployment Engineer to design, automate, and operate enterprise Oracle database platforms across AWS, Azure, and on prem environments. The role for Senior Cloud Database Deployment Engineer will join a platform team responsible for building and deploying enterprise-grade Oracle technologies.

This is not a traditional DBA role. This position is focused on cloud engineering, automation, and platform enablement, with a heavy emphasis on Oracle running in AWS (and some Azure). You'll work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to design scalable, highly available Oracle platforms that can be consumed by multiple business units.

The team combines deep technical expertise with a strong engineering mindset, operating in a collaborative, transparent environment while continuously modernizing database platforms using cloud-native and infrastructure-as-code approaches.

The role focuses on infrastructure as code, platform reliability, and scalable deployments with strong collaboration across DevOps and engineering teams. You will build highly available Oracle platforms, drive automation with CI/CD, and implement monitoring for resilient services.

Responsibilities:

• Engineer, deploy, and maintain Oracle database platforms across AWS, Azure, and on prem environments
• Design and implement highly available, scalable Oracle architectures, including RAC and distributed database solutions
• Build cloud infrastructure and environments (e.g., EC2 provisioning, VM builds, database deployments)
• Enable and enhance automation for Oracle platform capabilities (observer, auditing, monitoring, OEM, etc.)
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database and platform deployments
• Partner with DevOps teams to build, configure, and debug Jenkins pipelines
• Support production platforms, including participation in on-call rotation
• Contribute to platform standards, best practices, and reusable engineering patterns
• Perform POCs to validate new tools, architectures, and database features with a performance-first mindset
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and production issue resolution
• Create and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation

Experience Requirements:Technical Skills & Expertise

• Strong experience engineering Oracle platforms in cloud and hybrid environments
• Hands-on experience deploying Oracle on AWS (primary) and Azure
• Cloud infrastructure engineering experience, including: EC2 / VM provisioning and Oracle database installation and release deployment
• Infrastructure as Code experience: CloudFormation, or Terraform, or OpenTofu
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Git/GitHub, Artifactory
• Strong shell scripting for automation and deployment workflows
• Experience enabling monitoring and alerting using tools such as Datadog, OEM, and OpenTelemetry (OTEL)
• Deep understanding of Oracle RAC, including performance considerations
• Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical database systems in production

Advanced / Specialized Experience

• 10+ years of experience across Oracle Database engineering and administration, Performance Engineering, or Replication Engineering, ideally within cloud environments most recently
• Expertise with GoldenGate replication, including Oracle RAC and Exadata environments
• Experience working across Linux and engineered systems
• Ability to evaluate and recommend tools and engineering practices

Nice to Have

• Python for automation and tooling
• Groovy, Java, or additional scripting languages
• Experience modernizing Oracle platforms through automation-first approaches

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
