Network Device Software Developer / Reverse Engineer

Columbia, MD Full Time TS/SCI with Polygraph Required

Position: Application Developer (AD3)

Location: Columbia, MD (on-site)

Category: Software Engineering / Embedded Systems / Network Devices

Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Experience Requirement:

  • 12+ years with a Bachelor's degree, OR

  • 10+ years with a Master's degree, OR

  • 4 additional years of software engineering experience in lieu of a degree

Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer / Reverse Engineer to support projects focused on network-based devices. You will design, develop, prototype, modify, and integrate solutions that deliver meaningful technical results.

You will work closely with analysts, operators, data scientists, and other software engineers to provide tactical technical support in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Augment and enhance existing toolsets.

  • Derive, document, and analyze technical requirements.

  • Build prototypes to demonstrate understanding of operational requirements.

  • Produce deployable toolsets that operate within defined constraints.

  • Test and oversee testing of toolsets for release.

Skills Requirements

  • Strong familiarity with Unix-based systems.

  • Experience reverse engineering Linux-based network devices.

  • In-depth understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP) and network traffic analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark).

  • Experience developing and modifying software systems in C, C++, Python, and Assembly.

  • Experience supporting fielded software systems.

  • Familiarity with Git and Subversion.

  • Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • Experience with production-grade operational capabilities.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience reverse engineering Windows or embedded platforms (RTOS).

  • Experience with one or more of: Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, C#, or Rust.

  • Experience developing software across Linux, Windows, or embedded applications.

  • Experience with vulnerability research and exploit development.

Compensation Employment Policy

Salary is determined by multiple factors, including location, education, experience, skills, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 (annualized USD).
