The Materials Management Discipline Senior Advisor (Systems and Analytics) develops and maintains bp's global digital solutions for Materials Management processes. This role designs and manages digital tools, oversees change and deployment programs, and provides expertise in MM systems, analytics, and data governance. Key responsibilities include managing SAP MM data, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers, defining data scope, prioritizing analytics, and driving standardization across regions and systems to support business decisions.

In addition to this simply our systems landscape in line with Process simplification. Build and deploy the technology roadmap in adherence with SAP4Hana (Quantum) and other bp systems

Geographic Scope: global

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own sustain activities for the global Materials Management (MM) scope within the ERP landscape.
  • Support regions and sites in sustaining standard MM and ERP processes.
  • Act as process owner for the global MM template, ensuring end to end integrity and standardisation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in MM systems, analytics, and data to regional and central teams.
  • Translate business requirements into effective MM digital solutions and system improvements.
  • Coordinate delivery of agreed MM system enhancements across Backbone and related solutions.
  • Develop and maintain MM performance metrics, reports, and dashboards.
  • Drive systems simplification and deliver the MM technology roadmap aligned with process improvement.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Lead definition and governance of MM reporting, including priorities, data scope, cadence, and regional coverage.
  • Clarify MM master and transactional data assumptions and support analytics delivery planning.

SAP MM Systems & Data Governance

  • Guide SAP MM data usage, dependencies, availability, and outage impacts.
  • Support standardisation of data structures, settings, and governance across ECC, S/4HANA, and Quantum.

Tool Evaluation & Data Planning

  • Support evaluation of inventory and planning tools, including data preparation, vendors, and pilots.
  • Lead or support data extraction for analytics and proof of concept activities.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with MM leads, planners, IT, and analytics teams.
  • Communicate system changes and reporting impacts; deliver training and ad hoc guidance to regions.
