Title: Application Architect Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid) Note: This is a W2 contract role - 1099, C2C, & 3 rd party candidates WILL NOT be considered The Application Architect is responsible for providing technical leadership to the application development team, which includes designing, developing, and supporting complex Java applications. The resource will be involved in collaborating with business area to ensure the technical design of the application meet the business requirements. Since changes are being made to modernize and enhance the stability and functionality of the application, the resource is integral to ensure streamlining critical business processes, data integrity, regulatory compliance, and securing the applications. The resource will perform as an Application Architect and provide technical guidance to the other developers in the department. The Architect will also participate in a variety of analytical assignments for the enhancement, integration, maintenance, and implementation of projects, and preparing technology roadmap for the supported applications. Position Responsibilities: Develop business application components using Object Oriented java/JEE technologies and design principles Provide technical leadership to the application development team Develop software design documents and work with stakeholders for review and approval Design, develop, and maintain web applications and interfaces and RESTful web services Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure application architecture is in alignment with business requirements Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC) including experience in writing technical specifications for complex projects Work with Solution Architects and recommend cost-effective solutions by analyzing AWS pricing models, right-sizing resources, leveraging spot instances, and implementing cost monitoring and optimization strategies Position Qualifications: 12+ years of architecting experience, including designing and developing complex computer systems using Java technologies 12+ years of experience reviewing technical designs to ensure the enterprise design standards are maintained 10 + years of experience developing complex computer systems using java IDEs such as Eclipse or STS 10+ years of experience designing and reviewing logical and physical data model in SQL and/or PL/SQL 8+ years of experience preparing and maintaining the technology roadmap for the supported applications 8+ years of programming experience using Java JEE Spring/SpringBoot Framework 3.0 8+ years of development experience using Hibernate/JPA framework 5+ years of experience in projects development using Angular/React JS, JavaScript framework 5+ years of experience in the JBOSS Enterprise SOA and Devops containers environment 5+ years of experience using CMM/CMMI Level 3 methods and practices 5+ years of experience implementing Agile development processes, including test driven development 3+ years of experience or knowledge in creating CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS Write well-designed, testable code using Spring MVC, Hibernate framework for entity object mapping, jQuery /HTML5, JavaScript, HTML, XML, ReactJS Strong knowledge in designing both logical and physical database models in Oracle and Postgres Strong experience in data migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL Experience preparing technology roadmap for supported applications Experience tuning SQL queries, scripts, and troubleshooting issues using SQL, PL/SQL scripts Hands-on expertise in Databricks Hands-on experience Integrating software components into a fully functional software system Extensive knowledge in source control tools such as GIT Experience developing with application servers Apache Tomcat, JBOSS, OpenShift Container Experience developing, prototypes, and mockups for users review and approval Exposure to flowcharts, screen layouts and documentation to ensure logical flow of the system requirements Experience working on large agile projects Experience with Java 8, SOAP, Restful Web-Services, Spring Boot Projects, Spring Data, Spring Batch, Spring Security frameworks Experience or knowledge in creating CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Experience in cloud hosting in AWS environment Experience with AWS services like S3, EC2, VPC, LAMDA, or Amazon-managed streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK), B11ROSA (OpenShift), EKS, or ECS Fargate Familiarity with all the Elastic agents, Kubernetes concepts such as Pods, Deployments, Services, and Persistent Volumes Knowledge of Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and ActiveMQ broker preferred A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, or other related field required Note: This is a W2 contract role - 1099, C2C, & 3 rd party candidates WILL NOT be considered
