Our Global Fortune 500 Tech Client headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina is seeking a mid level Computer Hardware Engineer with 3-10 years of hands on experience working with enterprise server hardware. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy a mix of system validation, hardware integration, and detailed debugging in a fast paced engineering lab.

Role Overview

As a mid level Computer Hardware Engineer, you will support the development, validation, and performance testing of next generation server platforms. You'll work directly with server components, firmware packages, test automation tools, and thermal/power measurement equipment to ensure hardware readiness for global release. You'll also collaborate closely with platform engineering, firmware, and quality teams-playing a key role in identifying issues, validating fixes, and improving overall system performance.

What You'll Do

Configure and prepare server nodes for testing, including power distribution, network cabling, and rack level connections.

Install OS builds, BIOS/BMC/UEFI firmware, and required configurations.

Validate system readiness through remote management tools and troubleshoot issues.

Execute System Integration Tests (SIT) such as power cycle, stress, and performance testing.

Run thermal, power, and airflow tests (FWT).

Review logs, interpret test data, identify failures, and document findings.

Write engineering reports summarizing test results and recommendations.

Disassemble and reassemble server nodes for component swaps and debugging.

Validate operation of replaced hardware components.

Track engineering issues and verify fixes.

Required Skills & Background

3-10 years of experience in hardware engineering or server validation.

Bachelor's degree in EE, CE, or CS.

Strong knowledge of server hardware: CPU, NVMe, DIMM, NIC, system boards.

Hands on experience with BIOS, BMC, and UEFI firmware.

Ability to modify and interpret PowerShell scripts.

Preferred Experience

Experience with System Integration Testing: reliability, performance, stress, and power cycle tests.

Background in firmware validation (BIOS, BMC, commodity firmware).

Exposure to thermal behavior, airflow testing, and power performance optimization.

Experience in a server engineering lab or R&D environment.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $46.88 per hour
