Job Title Onshore Lead Developer (Full Stack) Location: Long Beach, CA (onsite) Rate: $55/hr
Role Summary
Onshore Lead Developer to support enterprise healthcare initiatives for a leading U.S. payer, with a strong focus on provider domain and EDI integrations.
This role is responsible for designing and delivering scalable, secure applications using .NET, React, SQL, and RESTful APIs, with hands-on ownership of EDI (X12/HIPAA) workflows.
The ideal candidate brings deep healthcareprovider experience, technical leadership, and the ability to translate complex requirements into robust solutions supporting claims, eligibility, provider data, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design, development, and deployment of full stack applications (.NET, React, SQL, APIs) for provider-facing healthcare solutions.
Architect and implement secure, scalable services and front-end experiences, ensuring performance and reliability.
Own EDI (X12) integrations: parsing, validation, mapping, acknowledgments, error handling, and reconciliation.
Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with HIPAA and PHI/PII standards.
Drive quality through unit/integration testing, code reviews,
CI/CD pipelines, and SDLC best practices.
Coordinate onshore-offshore execution, ensuring clear handoffs, documentation, and delivery against SLAs.
Document technical designs, workflows, and operational runbooks in alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
Participate in solution governance, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in full stack development using .NET and React.
Proven expertise in SQL Server database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with RESTful API design, security (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT), and integration patterns.
Strong EDI (X12/HIPAA) background, including 837, 835, 270/271, 276/277, 278, and related transactions.
Deep understanding of healthcare provider domain (credentialing, directory, contracting, demographics).
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), containers (Docker), and DevOps practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Healthcare provider ecosystems.
Familiarity with provider data feeds (NPPES/NPI), provider directory APIs, and data stewardship.
Exposure to EDI translators/mapping tools (e.g.,
Sterling/Gentran) and claim-editing/payment integrity flows.
Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep/Terraform), and observability tools.
Experience with healthcare data governance, audit, and compliance frameworks.
