Job Title: Associate Design Draftsman
Location: Mineral, VA
Pay: $30/HR
Job Description:
- Perform drafting duties including preparation, maintenance, and updating of industrial Nuclear Power Station documentation.
- Work with Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical circuits and prints, station and standard drawings, maps, charts, and graphic arts.
- Prepare, maintain, and update P&ID, circuit and one-line diagrams, prints, and charts.
- Collaborate with department personnel to obtain and verify information needed to produce detailed drawings from designer and engineer sketches.
- Create and update drawings manually and through the use of a computer-aided drafting system.
- Maintain computer-aided drafting system in operational condition.
- Perform freehand and mechanical pencil and ink lettering for drawings, posters, and prints.
- Retrieve and issue original drawings from records management and reproduce maps.
- Draft mechanical, electrical, and civil construction drawings and update-controlled drawings from designer and field sketches.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft software applications such as Word and Excel is required.
- Preference for candidates with an electrical background, though a combination of Electrical with Civil and Mechanical experience will be considered.
Preferred Years of Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Preference for Associate Degree in Drafting/Design
Top Required Skills:
- Prior experience working hands-on in a design draftsman capacity using drafting tools.
- Knowledge of drafting experience and handling or assisting in interpreting construction estimates and technical documents (drawings and diagrams).
- Solid CADD Microstation/AutoCAD skills.
- Good math skills and ability to perform basic calculations.

- Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
- Personal computer and keyboarding skills.
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work.
