Job Title: Data Team Lead / Strategist (Integrator)
Duration: 6-12 months - High possibility for conversion (Merit)
Location: Montgomery, AL - 100% Onsite
Experience Needed - 8-10 years in data management, analytics, or IT strategy.
- Leadership experience in government or regulated industries (healthcare, finance, justice).
- Proven track record in modernization projects (data lakes, warehouses, governance councils).
- Experience in change management and organizational transformation, with formal training in methodologies such as Prosci or Kotter.
- Preferred: Cybersecurity leadership depth, with advanced security certifications (CISM, CISSP) and training in Zero Trust frameworks.
Legacy Responsibilities - Oversee compliance strategy (NIST CSF, NIST , HIPAA, CJIS, IRS FTI).
- Act as business liaison/product owner to translate agency priorities into data deliverables.
- Manage current governance council activities and compliance reporting.
Modern Responsibilities - Define modernization vision and governance framework.
- Lead strategic planning for data lakes/warehouses.
- Champion AI readiness: ethical AI, bias detection, explainability.
- Drive cross functional collaboration and alignment across IT, business, and compliance.
- Establish governance council and modernization KPIs.
- Promote cultural enablement: data literacy programs, training, and adoption across the agency.
SQL Responsibilities - Oversee SQL governance strategy (role based access, encryption, audit trails).
- Ensure SQL monitoring outputs (from Red Gate) align with modernization KPIs.
Certifications (Preferred) - CISM - Certified Information Security Manager
- CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- ITIL - Information Technology Infrastructure Library
Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
- Master's degree preferred (MBA, MIS, or Public Administration with IT focus).
