Job Description Job Description About the Role Join an early-stage industrial AI team as its first engineering hire after the founders. You will work directly with enterprise field teams to turn real-world technician workflows and undocumented knowledge into useful AI-powered tools for critical infrastructure. What You'll Do Work alongside field technicians to identify process and knowledge gaps, then structure information for AI applications. Build practical integrations and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines connecting customer systems such as ServiceNow, SAP, Salesforce, and learning management platforms. Create evaluations using real-world data and partner with engineering to improve AI models and features. Own customer deployments from late-stage demonstrations and onboarding through production rollout and ongoing success. Share field feedback with the product team and support adoption and change management in large organizations. What We're Looking For One to five years of experience in forward-deployed, solutions, or implementation engineering, with hands-on software development and customer-facing deployment work. Experience deploying software for enterprise, industrial, energy, or defense customers, and taking deployments into production with measurable outcomes. Hands-on experience building integrations or data pipelines across multiple systems using APIs, webhooks, ETL, or enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, SAP, ERP, or CMMS. Experience shipping LLM or RAG features into customer workflows and building evaluations to assess their performance. Technical degree or equivalent demonstrated record of shipping deployments; strong modern AI skills, including agentic or retrieval-based systems. Comfort working independently across customer delivery and early-stage product needs, and willingness to travel domestically about 25% of the time. Founding or early-stage experience with responsibility for customer deployments and commercial outcomes is valuable. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $160,000 to $245,000 annually. Job Description Job Description About the Role As the founding product designer at an early-stage AI data company, you will own the end-to-end experience for a platform that helps contributors complete complex data tasks. You will work closely with the founding team and engineers, shaping the product experience while shipping interface improvements directly to production. What You'll Do Identify usability issues and design, build, and ship solutions across the contributor platform. Create clear user flows and interfaces that help non-technical contributors understand task requirements. Translate new project requirements into intuitive product experiences in collaboration with the team. Build and evolve the product's design system, reusable components, and visual language. Use AI coding tools to implement frontend changes with the existing product infrastructure. Prototype quickly, observe user behavior, and iterate on designs and experiments. Improve product craft and usability across loading and empty states, responsiveness, copy, and edge cases. What We're Looking For One to two years of product or UX design experience, including internships, and experience designing consumer-facing products. Strong design taste, high iteration speed, and comfort exploring multiple concepts and testing alternatives. Experience in a startup environment, ideally at an early-stage AI or technology company. Ability to take designs beyond handoff and ship frontend or UI changes to production. Familiarity with React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, along with Figma. Experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex to make frontend changes. Authorization to work without visa sponsorship. Compensation & Benefits Base salary is $130,000 to $160,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Location On-site in San Mateo, California.
