Own Observability: Build and maintain the monitoring, alerting, and observability systems that let us detect and resolve issues before users feel them. Scale & Optimize: Translate ambiguous, high-performance scaling requirements into well-defined, automated, and composable infrastructure-as-code deliverables (Terraform); proactively identify and implement cost-efficiency and performance gains across the stack to maximize cloud ROI. Automate Away Toil: Pay down impactful tech debt and reduce operational toil, using AI tools and automation to convert repetitive operational work into hands-free, monitored processes, and holding our internal platform to the same rigorous standards as our customer-facing products. Enable Engineering: Build and maintain the deployment and observability standards that empower the broader engineering team to ship AI features faster and more reliably; communicate complex cloud and reliability concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Uphold Security & Compliance: Ensure our infrastructure and operations meet Garner's security and HIPAA compliance obligations. The ideal candidate has: 4+ years of hands-on experience operating production cloud infrastructure at scale in an SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering role. Deep expertise with Kubernetes and Terraform in a cloud-first environment (AWS preferred). A strong track record with production observability: defining SLOs, building monitoring and alerting, and leading incident response and blameless post-incident reviews. Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python or Go, applied to infrastructure automation (experience with Kubernetes APIs a plus). Experience driving cloud cost-efficiency and performance optimization across compute, storage, and networking. Experience supporting AI/ML or data-intensive workloads in production is a plus. Experience operating in a security-conscious or regulated environment (HIPAA, SOC 2) is a plus. Fluency with AI tools (e.g., Claude) applied to real engineering and operations workflows, or strong motivation to build it fast. A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback. Technologies we use: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Istio, Python, Go, TypeScript, Postgres, NATS, Datadog, GitLab This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a transformative role, helping shape the future of healthcare. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time. Compensation Transparency: The target range for this position is 191 000.00. Job Description Job Description What you'll be part of Garner is on a mission to transform the U.S. healthcare system - and we're the only proven player doing exactly that. We partner with employers to redesign how healthcare works: applying 550+ proprietary clinical metrics across 80+ specialties to a dataset of 320M+ patients to identify the best-performing doctors, then using compelling incentives to steer members to the care that helps them get healthier, faster. The result is a rare "win win" - better care and lower costs for both members and employers. Job Description Job Description Most of what makes American healthcare expensive isn't medical care. It's the machinery wrapped around it: middlemen taking a cut, fraud nobody stops, and billing systems designed to fight over payment instead of deliver care. The result is higher premiums, denied claims, surprise bills, and a system patients increasingly experience as adversarial. Arlo is rebuilding health insurance for small businesses from first principles: making sure as much of every premium dollar as possible goes to care instead of getting absorbed by the system around it. We do that by identifying fraud earlier, steering members toward higher-quality and lower-cost care, automating operational overhead, and eliminating vendors whose business exists mostly to take a cut. AI is the foundation that makes this work. We use it across underwriting, operations, clinical programs, and member experience to build an insurer that becomes more efficient as the technology improves. We're already operating at meaningful scale: profitable, hundreds of millions in premiums, tens of thousands of members covered, and growing quickly through brokers, employers, and partners. Backed by Upfront Ventures, 8VC, and General Catalyst, with a team from Palantir, YC companies, and longtime healthcare operators. About the Role Arlo's underwriting is the core of the business, and it runs on machine learning at serious scale. We're hiring a Senior MLOps Engineer to build and own the infrastructure that powers it - from training models on tens of millions of patients and hundreds of millions of rows of claims data, to serving real-time quotes in seconds against inference-time datasets that run into the trillions of rows. You'll also build the tooling that lets our data scientists and actuaries iterate faster than ever. This is an ML infrastructure role with real room to do ML and data science. You'll own the platform, but you'll also have the opportunity to work alongside our data scientists and actuaries to test and evaluate your own ideas - not just support theirs. What You'll Work On Training infrastructure for underwriting Build and own the infrastructure layer that powers our underwriting model, trained on tens of millions of patients and hundreds of millions of rows of claims data. Make training reliable, reproducible, and scalable as data volume and model complexity grow. Real-time inference for quoting Build and own the API layer that produces quotes in seconds - serving a trained model against a much larger inference-time dataset, on the order of trillions of rows of claims across hundreds of millions of people. Own the latency, reliability, and scalability of the serving path the quoting product depends on. Accelerate data science iteration Make it as easy as possible for data scientists and actuaries to test new features and ideas. Job Description Job Description About Burro Burro is the leading robotics company in the world by number of robots working outdoors in the field with real customers. Our mission is to free people from tedious work and solve the critical labor shortages faced by farmers and others that work outdoors. To accomplish our mission, we need a world-class, diverse team where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas. With this in mind, we strive to create a work environment where every employee can be themselves and express their perspective - this enables us to deliver the most creative and innovative solutions to problems our customers face. Headquartered in Philadelphia with an office in central California, and backed by top Agtech and autonomy investors, including S2G, Catalyst, Translink, Cibus, FPrime, Toyota Ventures, FFVC, Xplorer, and Radicle, Burro was created to solve the labor shortages facing farmers using robotics. Burros can be described as Disney's Wall-E for agriculture and work outdoors, in a 1.0 format. They function, today, as computer vision based autonomous ground vehicles for carrying, towing, and scouting, and are designed to lay the base for the fully autonomous future of work outdoors. We have a growing triple digit fleet deployed in paid commercial use within vineyards, nurseries, berries, and beyond, and demand for our product is accelerating, so we are growing our team. About The Role We are looking for a Senior Robotics Platform Engineer to own the full lifecycle of how our robots are built, provisioned, tested, and updated in the field. This is not a cloud DevOps role; this is a systems infrastructure role rooted in scaling bare-metal Linux environments, and the operational complexity of deploying software to a fleet of autonomous machines in demanding conditions. You will take us from a largely manual, labor-intensive provisioning process to a reliable, scalable, automated, and instrumented pipeline. You will own end-of-line testing, system imaging, hardware bring-up, and the tooling that makes our engineering and support teams faster and more confident. The ideal candidate has built and scaled provisioning systems before, whether for robots, medical devices, automotive systems, industrial IoT, or large-scale enterprise hardware deployments. You understand what it means to image thousands of devices reliably, catch failures before they reach the field, and build infrastructure that manufacturing and support teams can actually use. You will design solutions for the correct scale: avoiding the complexity of a solution that scales to millions, opting for the development speed of a solution that scales to thousands. You are comfortable operating in a system that is actively bootstrapping itself; building or avoiding the infrastructure that would already exist at a larger company. Responsibilities: Design and own the end-to-end provisioning pipeline: from bare-metal OS imaging through hardware configuration, software installation, calibration, and pre-shipment validation. Own provisioning for all robot hardware peripherals: depth cameras, LiDAR and GPS sensors, motor drivers, networking, and other embedded subsystems. Develop end-of-line (EOL) test frameworks and reporting infrastructure, including pass/fail logging, failure diagnostics, and traceability per unit. Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure provisioning tooling is robust, repeatable, and operator-friendly. Support our growing fleet of robots working in real-world environments by developing tooling and runbooks to diagnose, repair, and re-provision units in the field with minimal downtime. Work with R&D to commercialize and deploy new hardware and features reliability in production Build monitoring and logging infrastructure for the provisioning pipeline and runtime environments, to be integrated with dashboards and alerting for fleet-level health. Document all systems, processes, and runbooks Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field required. We strongly weigh practical, demonstrable experience over academic credentials; candidates with equivalent industry experience building and shipping hardware systems at scale are encouraged to apply. 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating infrastructure for hardware at scale: robotics, autonomous vehicles, medical devices, industrial IoT, or equivalent. Demonstrated experience building provisioning or imaging pipelines for large numbers of physical devices (hundreds to thousands of units). Strong Linux systems administration: kernel configuration, systemd, networking, storage, package management, hardware interfaces. Proficiency with containerization: Docker and/or Podman, container runtime configuration, and image management at the OS level. Scripting and automation fluency in Bash and Python. Experience building or operating end-of-line or hardware acceptance test systems. Ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and support, and communicate clearly in each context. Nice-To-Haves: Experience with A/B or partition-based update systems and rollback strategies on embedded or edge Linux devices. Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible for device fleet configuration and runbook automation in an embedded/edge context. Experience with Balena or similar container-based embedded fleet management and delta update systems. Familiarity with ROS, CAN bus, motor controllers, or other robotics-adjacent hardware and software interfaces. Familiarity with custom Linux images, RT kernel configuration, latency tuning, or other hardened/minimal Linux distributions for embedded deployment and understanding of the tradeoffs involved. Perks Competitive salary and benefits package (medical/dental/vision/life insurance) Equity 401K Plan Unlimited PTO Paid parental leave RECRUITERS : We are not accepting agency resumes for this position. Please do not forward or submit resumes through our website or to any of our employees directly. Burro is not responsible for any fees related to unsolicited resumes from recruitment agencies. We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
