Job Description

CarShield, a leader in vehicle service contracts, seeks a Network Engineer to support our fast-paced, customer-focused finance and insurance environment in St. Charles, MO. You'll design, secure, and maintain LAN/WAN, VPN, and cloud connectivity across our offices and remote workforce. Responsibilities include configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers; monitoring performance; resolving incidents; and supporting high availability for critical customer and operations systems. Collaborate with security, applications, and operations teams to enhance reliability, protect sensitive data, and enable growth. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable network infrastructure supporting Car
  • Shield's finance and insurance operations
  • Monitor network performance, uptime, and capacity; troubleshoot latency, outages, and connectivity issues
  • Configure and manage switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers across on-prem and cloud environments
  • Implement and maintain network security controls, including segmentation, ACLs, IDS/IPS, and patching
  • Collaborate with security, applications, and operations teams to support new initiatives and resolve complex incidents
  • Document network topology, configurations, standards, and procedures; contribute to runbooks and change records
  • Support DR, redundancy, and high-availability solutions to ensure business continuity
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support, participate in on-call rotation, and respond to critical incidents
  • Evaluate and recommend network tools, hardware, and services to improve reliability and performance
  • Assist with compliance, audits, and best practices for data protection in a regulated environment
